Dog Days of Summer 5k Run welcomes … Dogs!

Register at the Race at 8 a.m. for our RaceDog Days of Summer 5k Fun Run/Walk, sponsored by K-9 Classic Run and Bozeman Running Company. We are welcoming dogs for the first time! For safety reasons we are asking that they be on non-retractible leashes and obviously well behaved with their immunizations up to date and only one dog per runner. We are also asking that there be no children in strollers to prevent tangles with leashes but kids can jog or walk with their folks at no cost (up to age 13. Over 13 pays fee and gets cool Shelter cap).  
     This year, too, we are having the race earlier – 9 a.m. – to beat the heat but still not l0ng before the rest of the Bark in the Park festivities. It’s only $30 to register and racers will receive embroidered cotton baseball style cap in appreciation. Register at the event at 8 a.m. please. Why? Get in shape and help abused and abandoned pets find homes. Plus, race fees are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law and will support homeless animals at Stafford Animal Shelter. 
Where: Course runs along quiet city streets and some dirt trails with the cooling Yellowstone river nearby. WATCH FOR TRAFFIC! There will be several water stops (for dogs and people) and volunteers at cross streets. Race begins and ends in front of Civic Center, 229 River Drive in Livingston near the Miles Bandshell Bark. Cooling rain tent and fun dog contests to follow.
Prizes: Racers get high quality embroidered cotton baseball-style cap with each paid registration. Ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places; $50 youth and adult catagories and SPECIAL prize to be announced from the Bozeman Running Company.
