Hiring Animal Care Technician

Want a job that makes a difference in the community? Animal Care Technician needed at Livingston, Montana’s Stafford Animal Shelter. Applicant must be flexible to provide coverage for coworkers shifts and willing to work weekends.  Due to the nature of small shelter, we are looking for someone able to perform responsibilities according to priority and who feels comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with many unplanned tasks/emergencies that arise during the day. Primary responsibilities include caring for homeless pets by feeding, administering medication, cleaning kennels, laundry, cleaning floors & facility, litter scooping, dishes etc..  Must work with the public on adoption & surrender counseling, animal introductions, stray animal intakes, reclaims and basic customer service.  Job is physically demanding so please be able to lift 50lbs & be on your feet for long periods of time.  A positive attitude, adaptability and a love of animals & people is a must!

Starting wage is DOE with preference given for people who have previous experience working with animals in veterinary medicine or in the animal welfare field.  Starting 30 hours a week with possibility for advancement for full-time hours with benefits if desired.
