When life hands you lemons, make … pet food?

Yes, the Shelter is now the beneficiary of a wonderful lemonade stand. Thanks to Carrie Jazwiecki of Head, Heart and Hand who donated her “World’s Best Lemonade” stand, supplies and secret recipe to Stafford Animal Shelter, Isabel, Simone, Seabring and Colin Davis for volunteering to do fresh lemon-flavored outreach for Stafford Animal Shelter and 2nd Street Bistro for donating lemons. Look for the stand at the Livingston Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays in August to see the adoptable pets of the week, upcoming events and to get your lemonade fix. Thanks everyone who has made this tasty venture so successful. Read the story in the Livingston Enterprise!

Bunny Love

Q: I want to get a friend for my rabbit; how does one choose a bunny buddy and what’s the best way to introduce them?

A: Did you know Stafford Animal Shelter is the only Shelter in the region that takes in, and adopts out, rabbits? Keep an eye on the “other pets” on ourAdopt Me! page and their photos and profiles will be posted when they are available.

To answer your questions, male and female pairs tend to do the best in bonding (then two females together, then two males, which is usually difficult). It does take a bit to see if they will work together; never just put them together and hope for the best.
