Rylee Fisher

Thanks to Rylee Fisher and Patty Martin who raised the most pledges again this year in the youth and

adult catagories, respectively. Thanks also to everyone who pledged to support them – and our hungry animals! Patty won a $100 Car Wash Gift Card donated by Chappell’s Body Shop/K Park Car Wash and the Rylee won a deluxe party for six at the Shelter with pizza, party prizes, games, a tour and cake thanks to Courtney McCormick. Thanks everyone!

Buy Local to Make a Big (hairy) Impact!

During July, Truex Furniture & Appliance will donate 10% of all sales $499 and over to Stafford Animal Shelter. This could add up to hundreds of much needed dollars for homeless animals. But that’s not why you should make that purchase at Truex in July. The benefits are bigger than that.

Buying local keeps your dollars circulating in the community. When you make a purchase at a chain 80 cents of every dollar leaves the community immediately. Local purchases improve our community’s struggling economy by sustaining jobs, making it possible for those employees to spend their wages in town, creating a tax base that supports local infrastructure and services, and a larger percentage of local purchases go to local charities that serve the community.

Everyone’s a Winner at Fur Ball

Curious who won raffles at the Fur Ball?  The popular Fur Ball Luxury Raffle, in which only one hundred $50 tickets are sold and the winner gets their choice of any of the auction items, was won by Cheryl Apisdorf (who purchased three tickets) and she chose the Jimmy Buffett signed guitar.  All early Fur Ball ticket buyers were entered into a raffle for an overnight at Chico and Darci Morrison was the lucky winner. Quilter Dori Passman once again donated a beautiful quilt for a raffle, this year won by Sharron Christensen.
Stafford Shelter is overwhelmed by the generosity of the many auction donors, Business Partners, guests, ticket buyers, volunteers and supporters who made the 12th Annual Fur Ball not just feasible but fabulous. The funds raised will be used to care for the many lost, unwanted and abused pets the Shelter takes in every year. Their generosity will ensure that abused and homeless animals get the chance at happiness they deserve.

Mark May 18th on your calendar for Fur Ball 2012.
