Veterinary Assistance Fund – Providing financial assistance for veterinary expenses for in-need pet owners of Park County, City of Livingston or surrounding communities.
The Veterinary Assistance Fund was established in 2017 by grants from the Banfield Foundation and the Park County Community Foundation and has since been replenished by a grant from the Humane Society of the United States. This fund is administered by the management of Stafford Animal Shelter, providing support for ‘owned’ animals (not shelter animals or stray animals).
This fund is intended to provide financial assistance to residents of the community who are unable to afford necessary veterinary care for their pets. This care can include either routine care (check-ups, vaccinations, medications) or more in-depth care for an illness or injury. This fund is not intended for spay/neuter surgery, if you need assistance for that purpose, please contact the Spay/Neuter program.
This fund is geared towards low income residents, or those experiencing a financial hardship. Proof of income or verifiable information regarding hardship is required with the application.
The Shelter will also need to verify the veterinary need, treatment or medication with the prescribing veterinarian and make payment arrangements.
Financial assistance is not guaranteed. Decisions will be made based on available funds, need of the applicant, and input from a veterinarian on diagnosis and prognosis of animal.
Payment will be made directly to the veterinarian, not to the applicant or any other individual.
